Explore Yambaru Forest Guided Tour from an EV Bus

The Yambaru forest in the northern part of Okinawa Island (Kunigami Village, Ogimi Village, Higashi Village) is inhabited by many rare animals and a biodiversity of plants. It was registered as a Natural World Heritage Site in July 2021. This tour uses an electric bus that emits zero CO2 in consideration of environmental impact and with the desire to protect the world's valuable subtropical evergreen forest for the future. The guide will talk to you about the nature in Yambaru and will tell you about the people who live there as well as the area's historical background. We invite you to experience this miraculous forest that is recognized by the world.

■ Period: April 1 to December 31, 2024 (operating on Fridays, Sundays, Mondays)
■ Departure Location: Kunigami Village Tourist Association at Yuiyui Kunigami Michi No Eki (Roadside Station)
■ Meeting Time: 9:45 am (strict), explanation of tour, bus leaves at 10:00.
■ Tour Time: about 2 hours & 15 minutes
※On Fridays there is also a 13:30 course that includes a coffee break (total about 3 hours).
※Please note that times may vary depending on road conditions.
■ Minimum Number of Participants: 2 persons
■ Age Requirements: must be at least 4 years old
■ Fee: ¥4,900 to ¥5,800
■ Included in Fee: Bus fare, guide fee, drinks & Snacks during breaks, taxes
※A portion of the proceeds from this tour will be donated to environmental conservation activities.
■ Reservation Deadline: by 16:30 the previous day
■ Clothing: Please wear comfortable shoes for walking, a hat, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt to prevent insect bites.
■ Other Information: Please bring your own rain gear, drinks, insect repellant etc.
