2025 Okinawa Bullfighting Tournament Schedule Information
Bullfighting in Okinawa is a longstanding tradition. Bulls fight each other using their horns. The one rule to remember is that if you run away, you lose. In the heavy class, bulls can weigh in around 1000 kilograms. Watching them collide is a sight! Some match-ups can be decided in seconds while others can last up to 30 minutes.
Uruma City is known as the bullfighting town in Okinawa and tournaments are held about 20 times every year at the Ishikawa Multipurpose Dome. The All Island Bullfighting Tournament is held spring, summer, and fall and is an event that attracts many fans.

*A free shuttle bus will operate from Ishikawa Government Building starting at 9:00 AM. The dome parking lot will be used by staff and bull transport vehicles, so the general public should use the shuttle bus.

Powerful Bullfighting Exhibition in Uruma, the City of Bullfighting
Amawari Park is a complex located at the foot of the Katsuren Castle Ruins, a World Heritage Site in Uruma City, Okinawa Prefecture. This innovative museum allows visitors to learn about the history and culture of Amawari. The Bullfighting Exhibition is currently being held in the special exhibition room. It features a large number of impressive photographs on display framed in A1 size frames. There is also a photo spot where visitors can take a photo in front of a large bullfighting sculpture while wearing a "fighting happi" provided by the bullfighting association. It's a fun experience for children and adults alike.
