2025 Golden Week Event Information

Golden Week Period: April 26 ~ May 5, 2025

Enjoy live sanshin music at the Garden Poolside while watching the sunset. A special moment is created with the pleasant Okinawan breeze blowing over you listening to sanshin music and watching the sunset over the East China Sea. In order for you to have an opportunity to experience more of Okinawa's traditional culture, there will be a traditional Eisa dance performed by a local youth association, a graceful Ryukyu dance, and Okinawa's unique lion dance.

Parts of the Garden Pool are heated and open until 9:00pm allowing you to enjoy the resort night pool atmosphere. There will also be activities for the whole family to enjoy such as the water gun target game for children.

Festival Alley
We will have a line of booths that offer things you will only find at a festival such as fishing for toys, a shooting gallery, and lotteries.

Sunset Sanshin Live
A magical moment happens when the setting sun blends into the ocean and island breezes combine with the sounds of the sanshin.

Time: 18:45 / 20:00 (30 minutes each time)

Traditional Eisa
This traditional dance is performed by local youth groups active in Okinawa. One of the highlights is the style of Eisa which varies from region to region.

Traditional Ryukyu Dance
Ryukyu dance is a traditional art form that has been passed down since the Ryukyu Kingdom and is still deeply rooted in Okinawa. Rokka is a small group of young professionals.
Dates: Sunday, May 4
Time: 18:30 / 20:00 (about 30 minutes each time)
Venue: Banquet Hall (3F)

Traditional Lion Dance
Okinawa's Lion Dance is said to exorcise evil spirits and bring bountiful harvests and prosperity to the region. It has been a part of local culture since ancient times.

Time: 18:30 / 20:00 (about 20 minutes each time)

Performers: Serikyaku Lion Dance Preservation Society

Shoot It! Water Gun Target Shooting Game
This is a competitive game where the first person to shoot through the nine targets wins (1 minute per match). Two people compete in the heated pool aiming at the targets with a water gun. There are 35 water guns available, so guests can have fun playing with the practice targets while waiting for their turn.

Starry Sky Observation
In Okinawa, the air is clearer and there are fewer nearby light sources making it easier to see the stars. Why not take some time to look up into the sky and enjoy the stars? At this event you can enjoy learning about the constellations from a star guide. They will teach you how to find stars and familiar landmarks in the sky so that you can compare it to what you see in your hometown.

Yambaru Quina (Rail) Panel Exhibition
Mr. Kishimoto, leader of Team Come Back Yambaru Rails, will talk about the ecology of the Yambaru Rail, the challenges it faces, and the importance of learning how to protect the Yambaru Rail in the context of protecting Okinawa's rich natural environment.

Command a Robot! (There is more than one right answer!)
Make the robot avoid obstacles from the start and reach the goal. Use block programming to move the robot. Use your imagination and think about how to reach the goal in your own way through trial and error! This is a step towards logical thinking.

Stamp Rally (Free)
Following the hints written on the card, children will search for stamps hidden throughout the hotel. Children who collect all the stamps will receive a prize. Stamp rally cards are given out at check-in.

Hanauta Select Book Collection
Hanauta Bookstore has selected books on travel, Okinawa, short stories, poetry collections, and picture books which you can read quietly surrounded by the lush natural scenery of Yamabaru.

Hanauta Bookstore
Hanauta Bookstore is located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa. The small bookstore opens once a month and selects books based on their evaluation of books that make great gifts. They focus on books from publishers that are not well-known but who produce books with great care.

Create with Resin a Memory of Okinawa's Ocean
This original accessory making experience is inspired by the ocean in Okinawa, capturing the clear blue color and the rippling waves. You can choose from key chains, necklaces, and hair ties. It is easy even for beginners, so children are also welcome to join!

A kids' burger corner has been added to the buffet restaurant QWACHI.
